How to Join TrueBlue

Joining TrueBlue couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is log on to the JetBlue website, sign up, and you’re all set!

Earning TrueBlue Points

Earning Points with Flights

The easiest way to earn TrueBlue points is by booking flights with JetBlue. Members earn three base points for every dollar they spend with JetBlue, and can even double their points – 6 points per $1 spent – when booking directly at JetBlue’s website.

Beyond the initial points, TrueBlue members also earn extra points based on the fare type they purchase. Fare earnings include:

What do these bonus points look like in real numbers? Well, if your basic fare with a Blue fare-flight was $300, you can expect to earn 1,800 points when you book on the JetBlue website; for the same price on a Blue Plus fare, you’d earn 2,100 points; 2,400 points would be the yield on a Blue Flex fare, and so on.

Getting Credit for Previous Flights

Just because you already flew with JetBlue doesn’t mean you can earn rewards from a flight that occurred before you joined the TrueBlue program. JetBlue allows TrueBlue members to earn miles from any JetBlue flights made in the previous 12 months that were not awarded points – just visit the TrueBlue site and enter your flight details to reclaim missing points.

Traveling with JetBlue Partners

Just because JetBlue doesn’t fly to where you may want to go doesn’t mean you can’t earn TrueBlue points. JetBlue has airline partnerships with several carriers who can help you reach your dream destination if JetBlue doesn’t already get there. Booking with these airlines will earn TrueBlue points, meaning you can rack up points even when you aren’t on  JetBlue flight.

JetBlue partner airlines include:

Badges

One of the unique features of the TrueBlue program is the fun-nature of the program itself. JetBlue is renowned for its customer service and great flying experiences it provides customers. The same attention to detail is present in their frequent flyer program as well.

True Blue has a collection of over 400 badges that TrueBlue members can collect for bonus points. These badges can be earned for completing tasks, such as interacting with the JetBlue team via social media, making round-trip flights a certain number of times per year, or connecting the JetBlue app to your Facebook. The value for badges ranges from 5,000 points for completing three round trip flights in a calendar year to 50 for syncing up Facebook and the app.

Purchases at ShopBlue

TrueBlue members can earn points when making purchases through JetBlue’s dedicated shopping portal. The portal features hundreds of the leading retailers you might normally make purchases with, with the caveat that when you purchase through JetBlue, you earn 3 points for every dollar you spend.

The portal doesn’t just contain retail choices, however. TrueBlue members can also earn points when booking hotels and rental cars through the portal, meaning that it’s possible to earn TrueBlue points for nearly everything under the sun!

Credit Cards

One of the easiest ways to amass a hefty haul of TrueBlue points is by applying for – and using a JetBlue co-branded credit card.

Issued by Barclays, there are JetBlue Mastercards designed to fit the needs of every traveler. For businesses, there is the JetBlue Business  Card, which offers up to 60,000 introductory  bonus points when purchase goals are met; while regular (no business travelers) can earn hefty signup bonuses with the JetBlue Card and the JetBlue Plus Card: offering 10,000 and 50,000 points for reaching an introductory spend respectively.

JetBlue credit cards are great for earning points – especially when booking flights with JetBlue or making purchases through the retail portal, as they earn points ber dollar spent on top of the typical rate at which TrueBlue members earn on purchases. For a complete rundown of these cards, click the links above, or check out AirlineCards’ United States Carriers page.

Redeeming TrueBlue Points

Flights with JetBlue

The easiest way to redeem TrueBlue points is through bookings with JetBlue. To use points for flights, members need to book their flight at JetBlue.com and choose to pay with points. There is no set value for TrueBlue points in terms of dollars, but generally, you can expect a ration of roughly 1:1 to 1:1.5 points to dollars.

Flights with JetBlue Partners

As JetBlue has partnerships with several airlines across the globe, TrueBlue members can also use their points to book flights with partner airlines. The easiest is with Hawaiian Airlines, which flights can bee booked with through a simple call to the JetBlue call center reservations number: 1-800-538-2583.

Vacations with JetBlue

If you are looking for something a little more grandiose, why not use TrueBlue points to pay for an entire vacation package? JetBlue Vacations. JetBlue’s vacation page offers bundles on vacation packages to over 100 destinations worldwide, including leading hotel chains and resorts.

TrueBlue Mosaic

TrueBlue Mosaic is JetBlue’s frequent flyer elite tier. It is also JetBlue’s only tier of frequent flyer perks.

How to Reach Mosaic Tier with TrueBlue

There are two routes for reaching Mosaic status with JetBlue. The first route is by amassing 15,000 points through flights with JetBlue or JetBlue partners in a calendar year. The second route is by amassing 12,000 TrueBlue points through JetBlue or partners in a calendar year and flying 30 segments in a year. Segments refer to a portion of a flight, such as from Point A to Point B. A round-trip flight with no stopovers qualifies as two segments.

Mosaic Perks

Mosaic, like other elite-tier frequent flyer levels, offers perks that regular travelers don’t have access to regularly. As JetBlue is a low-cost carrier, however, don’t expect to get the sort of luxurious perks you may expect from a global carrier, such as Emirates.

Mosaic tier TrueBlue members get some nice perks that are worth taking advantage of – especially for frequent travelers. These perks include:
